Goldy Club

How it works, from joining to your first session and beyond

The member journey here is the same whether you join online or at reception, and it is written out step by step below, because what unsettles new members most is not knowing what happens after they pay. There are no surprises and no fees that appear later. These are the stages exactly as they run at Goldy Club.

One: choosing the right package

Before choosing, ask yourself one question: how many times a week can you realistically attend, not how many times you wish you could. The honest answer decides the package:

  • An open membership for a fixed term if you intend to come three times a week or more.
  • A class pack if you attend irregularly or want to try the activity before committing at length.
  • Personal training if you are starting from nothing or returning after injury and need direct supervision.

We do not hide the price differences between terms. Longer works out cheaper per month; shorter carries less risk for you. Choose by your circumstances rather than by your enthusiasm on the day you sign up.

Two: registration, payment and activation

You choose the package, complete your details and pay, and you receive your own membership code with the start and end dates set out plainly. Activation is immediate, and renewal never happens behind your back: we remind you before the term ends and the decision is yours. If your subscription is a recurring one you agreed to, we say so clearly before payment rather than in small print inside the terms.

Three: the readiness questionnaire

Before your first session you complete a short questionnaire about your health: chronic conditions, previous injuries, surgery, medication that matters, pregnancy, and any symptoms on exertion. Your answers stay in your file and are seen only by those who need them to train you safely. Honesty here is not bureaucracy. A programme built on incomplete information can hurt you.

Four: the induction

  1. A tour: where the equipment is, where the lockers are, where the emergency exit and first aid kit are.
  2. Baseline measurements recorded in your file, so there is a starting point to measure against.
  3. Practical coaching on the technique of the basic movements before any heavy load.
  4. An initial programme matched to your level and to the days you actually have.
  5. An explanation of how to book classes and how cancellation works.

Five: booking classes and attending

Group classes and personal training are booked in advance, because each session has a capped capacity. Book early, and cancel promptly if you cannot make it so somebody else can take the place. We send a reminder twenty four hours before, and cancellation is free with no deduction until twelve hours before the session, unless the class page states otherwise.

Arrive ten minutes before your session. Being more than fifteen minutes late may mean rescheduling or losing the place, because joining after the warm up raises your risk of injury and breaks the flow of the session for everyone else.

Six: follow up and measuring progress

We repeat your measurements at regular intervals and compare them with your starting point, adjusting the programme on the numbers rather than on how a week felt. If progress stalls we look at training, sleep and consistency before we add load. And if you disappear for a while with no explanation you may get a message asking after you. That is an invitation back rather than pestering, and you can ask us to stop sending them.

Seven: freezing or stopping

If travel, injury or circumstance stops you attending, do not let your membership burn away in silence. Ask for a freeze and we pause the clock and add the days to the end of your term, as set out in the subscription policy. And if you decide to stop altogether, the process is simple and written down. We will not pass you between staff members in the hope of talking you out of it.
